It is home to one of the largest Amish communities in the world.  Drive by beautifully kept farms in Millersburg, Berlin, Charm and Walnut Creek. Stop for lunch and shop interesting stores reflecting the Amish culture.  Lehman’s hardware in Kidron is a unique shopping experience.

Kenyon College, Mt. Vernon Nazarene University and Ashland University are nearby.
The Mohican State Park (less than 10 minutes away) offers horseback riding, hiking trails, canoeing, boating, and swimming. The park offers horse trails but no boarding.  Bring your trailer and park at the house.  A two-acre grazing pasture is available for horses. Two staging areas located off of State Route 97 are available at the park.

Skiing is a short drive to Snow Trails Ski Lodge.

Malabar State Park is only a short drive and offers activities.

The area offers extensive bike trails and parks as well as award winning golf courses.

Mohican State Park offers picnicking, canoeing, 5 hiking trails, mountain biking, and horse trails. There are 22 miles of bridle trails with 2 staging areas located off of State Route 97.
Malabar State Farm offers hiking trails, guided farm tours, tours of the big house (site of Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart’s wedding) as well as other activities. Be sure to visit Mt. Jeez for a stupendous view!

The Loudonville area is home to 6 canoe liveries, the Tree Frog Canopy, and many other events and attractions. Mohican Valley
The Kokosing Gap trail offers 14 miles with endpoints in Mt. Vernon and Danville making it the largest rail to trail park in the United States.  Bring your bikes or walking shoes.
Many golf courses are minutes away including Apple Valley, Chapel Hill,  Mohican Hills and Little Apple to mention a few.
